Migrar a otro país implica mucho más que cambiar de lugar; conlleva adaptarse a nuevas reglas, aprender otros sistemas y, muchas veces, reconstruirse profesionalmente. Desde hace varios años, esa ha sido mi experiencia en Estados Unidos, donde actualmente trabajo para una firma legal, apoyando principalmente a la comunidad latina inmigrante.
Mi labor consiste en orientar y acompañar a las personas en el acceso a seguros médicos y beneficios sociales a través de los programas del gobierno. Ayudo a mis clientes a conectar con recursos en la comunidad, saber si califican, realizo sus aplicaciones, doy seguimiento a cada caso y, cuando es necesario, presento apelaciones. Es un trabajo que combina conocimiento técnico con sensibilidad humana y la posibilidad de generar un impacto real en la vida de otras personas.
La mayoría de mis clientes son inmigrantes latinos. Compartimos idioma, cultura y la experiencia de vivir lejos de nuestro país, lo que genera una empatía genuina y fortalece la relación profesional. Con el tiempo, esta cercanía se ha traducido en confianza. Muchos clientes llegan por recomendación, lo que me ha permitido apoyar a familias completas, incluidas mujeres embarazadas y personas en situaciones migratorias complejas. En un contexto de políticas migratorias más estrictas, brindar acceso a atención médica o beneficios sociales, muchas veces gratuitos, se vuelve un apoyo fundamental.
Mi trayectoria ha estado ligada al ámbito legal y migratorio. Al llegar a Estados Unidos, tuve que reinventarme y seguir preparándome, ya que el sistema legal es distinto. He trabajado en distintos espacios relacionados con trámites de migración y asesoría. Esta labor tiene como base mi formación como abogada en Querétaro, donde estudié Derecho en la Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro. La cual ha sido clave para entender leyes, interpretar normas, analizar casos y defender derechos. La capacitación continua me ha permitido crecer profesionalmente y ejercer mi vocación. Con orgullo llevo conmigo esa formación, así como los valores que me formaron en Querétaro, los cuales procuro reflejar en cada espacio profesional en el que participo. Sin duda, la migración trae desafíos, pero también oportunidades, y llevar con orgullo nuestras raíces puede convertirse en una fortaleza. Desde Atlanta, sigo representando a Querétaro, convencida de que la empatía y la vocación de servicio no tienen fronteras.
Rooted in Queretaro, serving beyond borders
Migrating to a new country is about far more than geography; it means adjusting to new rules, learning unfamiliar systems, and often rebuilding oneself professionally. For several years now, that has been my journey in the United States, where I currently work for a legal firm, supporting primarily the Latino immigrant community.
My work focuses on helping individuals navigate access to health insurance and public benefits through government programs. I guide clients through eligibility requirements, complete applications, connect them with community resources, follow up on their cases, and advocate for them when appeals are necessary. It is a role that combines technical knowledge with human sensitivity, an opportunity to make a real and meaningful impact in people’s lives.
Most of my clients are Latino immigrants. We share language, culture, and the experience of building a life far from our home country. It creates genuine empathy and strengthens the professional relationship. Over time, this closeness has translated into trust. Many clients come through referrals, allowing me to support entire families, including pregnant women and individuals facing complex immigration situations. In a context of increasingly restrictive immigration policies, providing access to healthcare or social benefits—often at no cost—becomes a fundamental source of support.
My professional path has been rooted in the legal and immigration fields. Upon arriving in the United States, I had to adapt and continue my training, as the legal system is different. I have worked in various settings related to immigration processes and legal assistance. This work is grounded in my education as an attorney in Querétaro, where I earned my law degree from the Universidad Autonoma de Querétaro—training that has been essential in analyzing cases, interpreting regulations, and advocating for people’s rights. Ongoing professional education has allowed me to grow and fully exercise my vocation. Migration undoubtedly brings challenges, but it also offers opportunities, and carrying our roots with pride can become a powerful strength. From Atlanta, I continue to represent Querétaro, convinced that empathy and a commitment to service know no borders.
